1. Who is responsible

This policy covers the website romankoch.online. The controller under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:

Roman Koch
Martin-Opitz-Str. 14
13357 Berlin, Germany
Email: contact@romankoch.online

My apps and other products have their own websites and their own privacy policies. This policy does not cover them.

2. Hosting and server logs

The website is hosted by ALL-INKL.COM – Neue Medien Münnich, Hauptstraße 68, 02742 Friedersdorf, Germany. When you open a page, the server automatically records technical data in log files:

  • your IP address
  • date and time of the request
  • the page or file you requested
  • the referring page, if your browser sends it
  • browser type and operating system

This data is needed to deliver the website and to keep it secure. It is not combined with other data. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a working and secure website). Details: ALL-INKL privacy information.

3. Google Analytics

The website uses Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland ("Google"). Google Analytics stores cookies on your device and collects data about your visit, for example:

  • pages you visit and how long you stay
  • device, browser and screen size
  • approximate location (country or city), derived from your IP address
  • the website that sent you here

I use this data only in aggregated form, to understand which pages people read and to improve the website. I cannot identify you from it.

Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA. Google LLC takes part in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in understanding how the website is used).

You can stop Google Analytics in several ways: block cookies in your browser, use a content blocker, or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. More information: Google Privacy Policy.

4. Newsletter

If you subscribe to the newsletter, your email address is sent to Kit (kit.com), the service that stores the subscriber list and sends the emails. Kit is based in the USA and takes part in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework.

After you subscribe, you get an email with a confirmation link. You are only added to the list after you click it (double opt-in). Kit records the time of signup and confirmation, and may record whether emails are opened and links are clicked.

Legal basis: your consent, Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR. You can withdraw it at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email, or by writing to me. Your address is then removed from the list. More information: Kit Privacy Policy.

5. Contact by email

If you write to me, I use your email address and your message only to answer you. Legal basis: Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR if your message is about a contract or a product, otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in answering). I delete the messages when they are no longer needed, unless the law requires me to keep them.

6. Fonts, images and links

Fonts and images are served from this website's own server. No request goes to Google Fonts or another font service.

The website links to other sites, for example the App Store, YouTube, X, LinkedIn and Medium. No data goes to these sites until you click a link. After that, their own privacy policies apply.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • get information about the data I store about you (Art. 15)
  • have wrong data corrected (Art. 16)
  • have your data deleted (Art. 17)
  • restrict the processing (Art. 18)
  • get your data in a portable format (Art. 20)
  • object to processing based on legitimate interest (Art. 21)
  • withdraw a consent at any time, for the future (Art. 7 (3))

To use these rights, write to contact@romankoch.online.

You can also complain to a data protection authority. The authority for me is the Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit.

8. Changes

I update this policy when the website changes. The date at the top shows the latest version.
